To ensure the data security of user accounts, each user needs to set multi-factor authentication for their Microsoft 365 accounts.
Please make the following preparations before logging in to your mailbox:
1. Download and install Microsoft Authenticator or Okta mobile app on your phone.
a. android recommended install Okta mobile application, please go to https://apps.cityu-dg.edu.cn/download/okta.apk to download Okta.
b.Go to the Apple Store to download Microsoft Authenticator.
2.In your browser to https://outlook.office.com logon mailbox, the page will display automatically depending on your browser language into Chinese or English.
3. Enter your email account username@cityu-dg.edu.cn and your password. Click Sign in. Here is an example adtest4@cityu-dg.edu.cn
4. The system will prompt you for more information, please click Next or Next.
5. If you use Okta, select "I want to use a different Authenticator app" in the dialog box that appears.
6. The QR code below will appear on the page. Open Microsoft Authenticator or Okta on your phone, click the + sign in the top right corner to Add an account -> Select Work or School Account -> Ready to scan, then scan the QR code.
7. The account is added to the mobile phone and a six-digit verification code is generated at the same time.
8. Please fill in the 6 digits on the computer page and click Next to complete.
9. According to the prompts on the page, set the mobile phone SMS as the second multi-factor authentication mode to avoid being unable to log in after the mobile phone is lost or Microsoft Authenticator /Okta is deleted by mistake. Select the country or region to which your mobile number belongs, enter the mobile number, and click Next.
10. Enter the six-digit verification code you received and click Next or Next.
11. The multi-factor authentication setting is successful. Click Finish or Done.
At this point, your HKU (Dongguan) campus network account has been successfully activated, and configured a high-intensity dynamic password verification mechanism. When you log into a HKU (Dongguan) system, such as a Microsoft 365 application, on a new device, you may need to enter a dynamic verification code after entering your password.
