CityU(DG) Account Activation and Password Reset (2025)

1. Account Activation

1. For new users, after you get your CityU(DG) account and a one-time password, please go to https://outlook.office.com/cityu-dg.edu.cn and Sign in to activate your account.  On the sign-in page, please fill in your email address as username@cityu-dg.edu.cn.
2. After Sign-in, you're asked to update your password. Please follow the regulation below to create your new password:
•The password length is a minimum of 8 characters.
•Password cannot contain the user's account name or parts of the user's full name that exceed 5 consecutive characters.
•Must contain characters from three of the following categories:
1)uppercase alphabetic characters
2)lowercase alphabetic characters
3)Base 10 digits (0 through 9)
4)Non-alphabetic characters (for example, !, $, #, %)
5)Other alphabetic characters not included in the other categories 
3. After password reset, you're asked to provide more information for security purposes. 
4. Come to the following page, you need to set up Multi-factor authentication (MFA). We recommend you use Okta App for your MFA, please use your smartphone to access https://apps.cityu-dg.edu.cn/download/okta.apk to download and install Okta in advance. 
Here please select "I want to use a different authenticator app", and click Next.
5. Click Next.
6. Use Okta (on your smartphone) to scan the QR code on the page, and click Next.
7. Fill in the Okta code on the page, and click Next.
8. Fill in your cellphone number, and click Next
9. Enter the code you received from your cellphone.
10. You have successfully registered MFA.
11. After finishing all the above steps, you may use the new password to log in to campus email, and any other campus systems, and connect to campus Wi-Fi.
